Welcome to the beautiful city of Vienna, known for its elegant palaces, rich culture and tasty food. Join us on our Walking Food Tour and we will take you on a journey through the city's best food stops. Here's a list of possible tastings:
- Bretzel: enjoy a warm, freshly baked Bretzel, with its perfectly golden-brown, crisp exterior and soft, chewy interior. The ideal balance of salty and doughy goodness, this iconic snack is a true delight.
- Viennese Wurst: the concept of Viennese sausage stand was added to UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage list in 2024, so it's a must-try in every trip to Vienna. In a typical stand in the city center, you will try the traditional Wurst sausage inside a fragrant bread roll.
- Wiener Schnitzel: this iconic dish is so popular that it doesn't even need to be described. Traditionally, a proper Wiener Schnitzel is a veal cutlet pounded thin, which is then dipped in flour, egg and breadcrumbs (in that order) and fried until golden. Simply unmissable.
- Goulash: Taste the Austrian version of this hearty, flavorful stew originating from Hungary, made with tender beef, paprika, and a mix of vegetables. It's a comforting, savory dish that spices up every meal.
- Kaiserschmarrn: this famous dessert looks like a "scrambled" light pancake, made with flour, eggs, sugar, salt, milk and then fried in butter. It's usually served with sugar and plum jam in all the restaurants and cafés in town.
