Expect a full meal—or even more! Our Valletta Food Tour is designed to immerse you in the authentic flavors of Maltese street cuisine, served with a side of history and local charm. Tastings may vary depending on the season and availability, but every stop is carefully selected to give you a true taste of everyday life in Malta’s capital.
Here’s a list of our Valletta Food Tour possible tastings:
- Pastizzi: A Maltese classic and the undisputed king of street food! These warm, flaky pastries are filled with either ricotta or curried peas. Found in every corner of Malta, pastizzi are delicious, satisfying, and surprisingly addictive.
- Bigilla with Galletti: This rich and garlicky broad bean dip is served with galletti, the iconic Maltese crackers. It’s a beloved local appetizer and a staple at social gatherings—and an essential part of any food tour.
-Depending on the selected departure time, you will enjoy one of two traditional main dishes. At lunchtime, taste Imqarrun, baked pasta served with a rich meat-based sauce. Deliciously crunchy! During evening tours, savor ravjul, delicate Maltese dumplings filled with fresh ricotta and herbs, served with rich tomato sauce or sage-infused butter, reflecting the island’s Italian culinary influences.
- Imqaret: A sweet street food treat! Imqaret are deep-fried date-filled pastries with hints of citrus and spice. Crisp on the outside and gooey on the inside, they offer a warm taste of the island’s Arabic heritage in every bite.
- Kinnie or Cisk Beer: Quench your thirst with Kinnie, Malta’s signature soft drink made with bitter oranges and aromatic herbs. Or sample a glass of Cisk, the refreshing local craft beer, perfect to pair with the rich flavors of street food.
